Seeking Assistance 'Clear Browsing Data Keeps Buffering' ?

I am seeking any assistance with the 'Clear Browsing Data' in Chrome 'Automatic'. The circle keeps 'buffering' and will not stop. However, if I close the 'clear browsing data' while it is still buffering, the data appears to be deleted.  I can clear the history upon 'manual use' by ticking one at a time. Tried to reset chrome and only partially will it reset. I unplugged the computer for five minutes and still the same problem. Defragmented disk and used 'disk cleanup'.

I'm using:

Version 109.0.5414.120 (Official Build) (64-bit)

A pic is enclosed. I would not believe that un-instaling Chrome would make any difference. In fact, that may cause more issues. Any suggestions or input is truly appreciated. Still running Windows 7

Also tried 'Basic' with all options and still the same.

Addendum:

Clearing browsing data goes into infinite loop and never ends. I refresh the settings page and go back and can see that everything has been cleared but the prompt never ended and kept looping.

Supplementary:

I cannot reset Chrome as the buffering is an infinite loop nor can I cleanup Chrome. If I try to 'cleanup' chrome the specifics state: Search failed

I uninstalled and re-installed Chrome. The problem is fixed but I cannot re-install mail checker or ad block any longer with the last version for Windows 7 > 109.0.5414.120. The wording states "Not compatible with my browser". * Any work around?  I really hate ads. I really liked mail checker. Now I cannot install.

Does the box change color when you type?

Yes. Now the "control buttons" do not work.

Addendum:

I'm sorry, the control key was not a problem. I just inadvertently forgot that using the "Shift key" brings up the symbols " @ # $ % ^ & * ( + ETC." I misconstrued the contol key for the shift key. I must be losing it. This is a right hand 'forget me not'. I called my nephew IT specialist and he quicky corrected my error. Irrespective of that, the PC is now functioning somewhat better; still quick for Windows 7.

Supplement:

On post #8 the picture shows a slightly colored gray in the search box (Home Page). However, upon opening a new tab page the search box is white as stated previously. On the new tab page one can customize the look. The 'Classic Chrome' shows the search box 'light gray'; picture enclosed. Exactly what is the correct color? "Red Arrows" denote the color.

I believe I've identified the culprit in which I refused to look at until things became too severe. We would strongly recommend not to use "uBlock Origin". This is a highly dangerous tool invading ones operating sysyem at all levels. Here is the information I posted to Google (uBlock Origin).

Ever since I installed uBlock Origin, my account has been hacked on Ebay in which merchandise I ordered was sent to the wrong address in New York.  In fact, my primary address was changed on Ebay to a New York address with a Rhode Island phone number. I rarely look at my emails from Ebay to check the details, only what I ordered and the price as it has become customary. However, the New York address was present in the email after going back to check the details. The world and the people therein are becoming more treacherous each day. We have been at the same residence for fifty-two years in Rhode Island and have never lived in New York or conducted business in that state. I've conducted business transactions on Ebay for well over thirteen years with no issues, none. I cannot log in to the New York Post to post comments with uBlock Origin activated.  I've been a member of the New York Post for over ten years. In addition, all my comments and reviews of those years "disappeared" until I "REMOVED" uBlock Origin from my operating system. My Discover Card was compromised as well whereby airline tickets and an abundance of oil ($800.00) was charged to my account. Needless to say, we have gas in our home. There were no problems with my operating system until again 'activating uBlock Origin'. My email was exposed to the tentacles of uBlock Origin whereas I was receiving messages "internal" as stating to check the box if you're not having problems. I have seen just about enough. We would strongly recommend all to stay away from uBlock Origin. Install the 'extension' at your own peril. Remember, "Nothing is for free". uBlock Origin is a highly suspicious tool being operated by those seeking to entrap the unsuspecting

Do you realize that Chrome version 109 that you are using was released in January 2023 - almost 2 years ago? Microsoft has dropped support for Windows 7 and Google has dropped support for Chrome on Windows 7. New Mozilla Firefox also does not support Windows 7.

If you are concerned about security, then upgrade your system to Windows 11.

In case you cannot upgrade the hardware required for Windows 11, then consider using Linux.
