Hello all,

I have quite the mystery that's just come up and would LOVE to figure out the fix. Both myself and my roommate have smartphones from Sprint, Note 6 and Note 9. We have three smart(enough) tv's with three different roku boxes (all Premiere+) and we have been able to cast to all of them via our phones for the last couple of years just fine. NOW, as of yesterday neither of us can cast to any of the boxes. I tried using three different casting programs and none of them even see the Roku's. The casting icon has disappeared from my Youtube app altogether! ALL products are up to date. All devices are on the same (the one and only) wifi network. All Roku's work fine as you can watch Netflix, Hulu, etc on them just fine.

Samsung says it's a Roku issue. Roku says it's a Samsung issue. WHO CAN HELP US?!?

ANY HELP is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!!!  :)

Is the wifi router in your home? It is either the router or the phones that is the problem. Since it is two phones

having the problem....I lean toward the wifi router causing the problem.

EDIT: After further thought....is it possible you have exceeded your ISP's limit of downloads?

So I did a factory reset on both the main living room Roku and my Google wifi router, my phone still doesn;t see the Roku. However when I go to a friends house I can cast from Youtube to theirs just fine. And yes, I download a lot, but how can an ISP turn off my phone's ability to send data from my phone to my tv? When I go over the allotted monthly data cap they just charge me extra. Is what you're referencing a real thing??  I have Comcast as an ISP, FYI.

I have a Roku device and a Roku remote. I assumed you were bypassing using the remote and instead using an

app on the phones to control the Roku devce.

After reading your latest posts I realize that what you are doing is something I am not familiar with. Perhaps another

member has the solution for you or can explain what is happening.

I can watch YouTube videos with just using the Roku device and the Roku remote. The signal is sent directly from the

wifi router to the Roku device connected to my TV. Can you do that by not relying on the phone...using the remote?
