Windows Media Player

I've been having an off and on problem with WMP. Lately though it won't stream video. When I click the link to a file it displays this message... 'Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is located on the Internet, connect to the Internet. If the file is located a removable storage card, insert the storage card.'
What does this mean? And why won't it work? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling WMP and get the same message. I can view movie files saved to my PC without a problem.

I just got that same problem recently, I think it has to do with installing or uninstalling some programs, but I dont know which, because it happend after I went and took off a bunch of software I dont use any more.

There are some WPM replacments out there, just do a google search for it.

I reccomeond just uninstalling WPM and getting a replacments, just cuz I dont like
WPM, and that new verification stuff, it annoys me.

But I also reccomend waiting till some more knowledgeable people post about this.

I think I figured it out. I went into the properties and cleared the player's history and cookies. Seems to be working fine now.
