Saving Video Files with DVDx

I wanted to know if anyone else is using DVDx to save their DVD to their hard drives.

If so, I had a question for you. I am using this for some movies and it seemed to be taking an extraordinarily long time to complete. It used to take about the length of the movie to complete and it took almost 15 hours to rip "Slap Shot" to AVI (XviD). I'm wondering if the settings I have are too much for my computer.

If you have any experience working with this program, I would appreciate your input.

I stopped using DVDx a while back as the mpg quality wasn't that great (not tried it doing xvids).

I'd switch to using one of the better xvid converts which can be found at Doom9 try using Gordian Knot or even Nandub or Doom9

There are very good guides at doom9 on using these, but if your familiar with already doing xvid movies I'm sure you'll figure out how to use the above.
