need Help Buying a Blu-Ray Player

I want to watch Blu-Ray movies on my laptop (windows 10) - USB, just plain old movies. I'm not interested in any sort of enhanced disks. I want a very basic player. I see that some blu-ray devices won't play movies? What do I look for? I see there has been a lot of technical development with Blu-Ray over the past ten or so years and I want to make sure I get just simple gear. Does the player usually include the software to actually play the movies?
