Hi  Don't know if I'm in the right place for this topic.  I'm constantly being asked to sign in to Google Accounts when I load Gmail in Firefox on my Ipad.  All the Google community groups can say is Sorry we only use Chrome.  Surely there's life somewhere other than in Chrome?  How do I stay signed in ,alternatively can someone point me in the right direction please.   Many thanks

I would think if you are not deleting cookies and scripts needed by Gmail then you should be able to stay signed in.

If no one else has a solution...I will later test to see if I can access Gmail without signing in after rebooting Firefox

on my Linux. I don't use Gmail every day so I always delete its cookies after signing out. I have the scripts it

needs marked as trusted in my NoScript extension.

I just took a minute to test. I logged into Gmail. Closed the tab. Shut down Firefox and restarted Firefox.

Clicked on the Gmail bookmark. I was still logged in.

EDIT: I just looked to see how many Google cookies created when visiting Gmail. There are 41 cookies.

By contrast....Outlook has 59. Two scripts were all that were needed to access Gmail. Same for Outlook...2 scripts.

Hi Buddy215 Thanks for taking the time to help me with my problem.  When you did your test were you saving cookies or not?  Also your comment   I have the scripts it needs marked as trusted in my NoScript extension is beyond me. Can you talk me through it please?  Thanks again.

I did not delete Gmail cookies until after rebooting and seeing I was still signed into Gmail.

NoScript is an excellent extension for Firefox. It allows you to control what scripts run on websites

you visit. Many popular websites have multiple tracking and ad producing scripts that are unnecessary

to view the content. Some scripts may actually be malware. It does require some time to learn to use

it properly. That depends on one's existing computer knowledge and experience. Some ad blocking

extensions block scripts related to ads. From what I have read extensions for Firefox on ipad are not allowed.

So, you can't use NoScript on your ipad. One source for that info....NoScript on iPad? - Apple Community

Check in your Firefox settings to be sure you are not deleting cookies when closing Firefox.

Here is a screen shot of my settings there. Note that in the Delete cookies and site data when

Firefox is closed the box to the left is UNchecked.

Hi Buddy215 Thanks for your time and effort.  Can’t honestly say I’ve changed anything but going through it all seems to have cured it.  Thanks again.
