Can you access Windows normal screen from a Windows 8 tablet, as I can on my laptop, or are you limited to the touch screen and icons?

I would check this myself except that I am a fair way out of town in Brindisi.

Of course, not speaking Italian limits my investigation also :wink:

If it is running normal Windows 8/8.1 the answer should be "yes".

Would help to know exactly which tablet you are referencing.

I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

Hi JohnWho,

I wasn't quite clear about this. At the time I posted it (October last year) I had not purchased a tablet running Windows, I was just considering it. I had my Galaxy Tab 2 and my wife had an iPad2, plus our two Toshiba laptops, and I was interested in getting a Microsoft-based tab also.

I have now bought a HP Elitepad 900 64G which was running Windows 8 Pro. I upgraded this to 8.1Pro as soon as it arrived. I can flick between Apps and Desktop, but I am having issues with the Desktop that are presently making it unusable. I put another thread on about this but haven't got any answers yet.
