We didn't believe you because we are not using an unsupported operating system and we have found other options to continue using modern web browsers and updated security applications. I fir one ditched windows all together and migrated to linux years ago and I have had 0 regrets.

Please take the advice and install linux mint your issues and concerns will cease to exist. I am using linux on a 10 almost 11 year old computer tgat is far to old for windows 11. I have a laptop I still use linux on and is capable of using windows 11 but I use windows 11 in a VM on it as needed.

Thanks for the advice. In reading about Linux for a while, I've decided against it as there is a learning curve as some properties are not to my liking at all.

There is virtually no learning curve to using Linux. My wife who is not in IT or has no professional computer training or knowledge can use linux just fine just as any one can use Windiws. The learning curve existed in 1990s to early 2004 but not anymore.

Thanks very much for the courtesy and support. I just will not move away from Windoes 7. Look at this way, the servers are still up and running. What does that say? I could elaborate more and provide a synopsis as to my thinking but will not.

* MSE is still updating yet not for virus definitions: silently. No issues. Can you explain this?

They are slowly killing it off. Without virus definitions your machine won't be able to detect or clean new threats.

* Why is MSE still updating as remaining 'green'? Some have said that MSE is no longer 'green' and cannot update. Why are definitions still being created?

The roll outs are hitting people at different times. Depending on server location.

* That makes sense yet why are the updates still being processed with no action showing in the Reliabilty Monitor? I do not mean to be redundant.
