The Crimson thing is installled right? It is the graphics control panel that came pre installed with your machine?

Is there an AMD folder? look for cnext in there...

Considering how nervous you are about doing this i might recommend you take the machine to an actual shop. I understand how scary this sort of thing can be for people who are not tech savvy at all, it can be a trial.

That way you can get some sort of guarantee that your machine will be fixed. (or at least running)

If you were here I could tell you to sit back and relax, whilst I fix it... but you are not.

I don't know what the computer had when we bought it in
Sept. I know that one day we had a problem viewing our photos. i am a real estate agent. I called dell and dell installed amd gaming evolveed with rptr. i really didn't need rptr as i felt it gave me troubles and im not a gamer. I just don't want to get a white screen agan like sunday. last night micoroft called me back on another issue that related to outlook solved. i told him about the pink screen and he said he was level 2. he went in and updated the driver. he said not to worry about crimson. i don't think it is really installed as on contol panel it is an installer.

the machine thinks it is part of a domain, possibly a server

Also

And a couple of other things I can't diagnose without doing more research.

I see no antivirus product installed either...

Someone who knows what they are doing needs to sit with this machine for an hour and fix it.

I agree with you and really appreciate your help. You are the best!! System restore keeps losing restore points. Dell Conceirge has their tool still installed on this computer. Maybe that is a problem. I have Dell Conceirge solftware tool installed on this computer. It is still installed. maybe it is causing these issues. I have windows security essentials anit virus and i scan with malwarebytes as well.

The process I outlined for you changing the permissions on cnext.exe may fix that problem. (search cnext.exe in ProgramFilesx86 if you can't locate it manually)

I would uninstall

Dell Data Vault
Dell Digital Delivery
Dell Edoc Viewer
Dell Foundation Services
Dell Product Registration
Dell SupportAssist
Dell SupportAssistAgent
Dell Tech Concierge
Dell Update

All of them are junkware

What is the exact model of the laptop? (look on the underside of the machine) I will try to find you a better driver/installer for you.
