The second flash drive had the same problem. Got the error about there being a camera or device plugged in and it wouldn't do more than that.

I have downloaded the user manual for my computer's model.

It is mentioning about there being two different recovery disks.
I don't believe I have those disks anymore.

What do you mean by "Buying a DVD and creating the instalation disk"?
Does the information I put on the flash drive differ when it is put onto a disk?

Also, as a side question.
When I was downloading the Windows 7 64bit file you linked onto my computer. It was listed as a 3gb file. But once it was downloaded onto my computer, the file was 1.6gb. Could that be related to the problem of it not working?

Because you have had the same problem with two different drives I was suggesting that you should create a bootable disc by burning the ISO image to a blank DVD+/- R

The options you want on page 48 are the last to, recovering from within Windows or recovering with the hdd.

Oh okay, I understand. I will try to find some of those with the proper space to hold the .iso on my way home tonight.

Should those options on page 48 only be used as a last resort?
If so, are we at the point of last resort if the DVD does not work?

Yes, we are running out of options.

I can't remember if I asked this or not... can you boot into Safe Mode?

I don't know about the plugged in device problem but the f8 not working is making me think that your computer's operating system is corrupt. You may need to format your drive and reinstall windows. Of course, do this only as a last resort.

If you install Wndows 8 it will overwrite the Windows 7, you will lose all of your data and any programs you downloaded or install from a disc.  This is why I'm trying to get the repair installation going.  Doing a system recovery or install Windows 8 would be our last option.

Are you downloading the ISO image at the website I provided the link to?

Did you download the Windows Premium 64-bit?

Just tried it from a disk like you had suggested.

It was giving me the same problems as the flashdrives had.

Update note though, when booting from the DVD-CD as the first option. I was able to make it boot into safe mode from that.
I'm not sure if that gives any clues on what else we could try to fix it or not.

When you put the disc in the tray and then restart the computer do you get the message "Press any key to boot from disc", or words to that effect?

When you get that message you have not booted from the hdd, it is giving you the option to boot from the disc.  If you don't press "any key" in the allotted amount of time the computer will continue to boot into Windows.  So... are you pressing a key when prompted to?

I meant that if I boot from the harddrive.
Right after the gateway logo and the option to go to the boot menu or the setup.
It goes to the blinking underscore

If I boot from the cd drive.
That message happens as the same time listed above.
Right after the logo.

And yes, I was pressing a key when prompted.
