Okay. So I need to hit ebay and order a hdd. They seem cheap enough.

I want to generate a speccy for another computer and read it myself. I tried and found that I didn't have a program that would open it. How do I do this (without posting it here)? And if you'd direct me to something, at my level, that I can read and begin to learn how to understand what I'm looking at in the speccy files.

I went through this one and saw where it mentions bad sectors.... But there was also quite a bit of; "hmmm, I wonder what that means".

I wouldn't purchase a hdd on eBay.  Since you never did post the model of this computer I don't know if this is a laptop or desktop computer.  Go to Newegg and select the type of hdd you need (laptop or desktop) and you will see all sorts of hdds.  Newegg has decent prices, and you can order online and have it delivered to hour home.

Speccy was intended to be posted at a website, this is why you can't see the snapshot on your computer.  Bleeping Computer has another forum titled Tests and Scribbles where you can post the speccy and view it.  If you don't wish to leave it there you can edit it out, but you will have to leave some form of text, I just type in test.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
