Hello friends!

So I am confident and proud to let my little brother to use my pc and allow him to do as anything he wished to so he did and downloaded something on my pc and until then it randomly just moves the cursor and its holding the windows key i believe as I cant press win key + L to lock my pc while doing so. I didnt mind it that much until I was using powerpoint and copied some picture on the web and it suddenly happened again and when its done doing so I pasted the thing on powerpoint and to my surprise its a screenshot instead of the picture i copied online.

I suspected that I mistakenly pressed the printscreen key but as I rememebered I have no prntscrn key on my keybaord and i Immediately panicked.

Hoping someone could help

Hmmmm...sounds like you may have some malware. Best you start a topic in the Malware removal forum.

Be sure to include the two FRST logs in that topic. Post back here with a link to your new topic.

You said:

I strongly suggest:

1:  do not let your little brother on your computer unless you are there to see what he is getting in to.

2: Go HERE, follow the posting instructions there, and wait for one of our trained techs to help you. I suspect that you have a virus and someone is taking control of your computer. If you have sensitive information on the computer:  drivers license, SS numbers, Bank account information, get it off and save to  flash drive NOW.

Because of the high number of abandoned threads, if there is no response after 3 days I remove the post from my answer list. If you wish further help after that PM me.

And if you would like to do so, please follow the instructions in the Malware Removal and Log Section Preparation Guide.

Good luck! :)

Can I ask why the Moderators instructions were not good enough that felt the need to follow up (piling on) with the same information. ?

Or someones correct answer needs to be repeated. ?   Just wondering.!

I can't answer for Musicman, but I can for myself. If you take the time to carefully read the OP's  post, he is obviously somewhat inexperienced and allowed a sibling to access the computer completely without supervision. He obviously did not understand the dangerous situation he was in.

Right?

So I was adding suggestions for security, and letting him know that possible identity theft is possible, or access to financial sites that could prove disastrous, none of which information was offered in the first response. This was an urgent situation and needed immediate action for his protection.

So now you know.

I might respectfully suggest that some of these non-topic questions might best be resolved by a PM, as opposed to open conversation for thousands to read. We all want to keep BC's reputation and quality high.

With appologies to Pks for putting even more info on this thread.

Does MS recall take screenshots if it is enabled? Not saying it is but it might be that simple?

Now that is great work @aldfort
 "Yes,

Microsoft Recall (Preview) works by taking periodic screenshots (snapshots) of your screen, storing them locally to create a searchable timeline of your PC activity, but you must opt-in, control what's saved, and can pause or disable it anytime. It saves snapshots every few seconds when content changes, allowing you to search text and images, but it's important to note that even with filters, it has sometimes captured sensitive data like credit card numbers."
