Hi,
I am having an issue with my surface boot 2 laptop, currently running Windows 10 (64bit). The machine works fine, so I don't want to exactly get rid of it just yet but I think there is a boot sector virus in the system or something even worse. I run antivirus scans, and they don't pick up anything. My computer is always running at 90 to 100% CPU usage and very high memory usage. when I look at the programs that are causing the issue and dig down to the file locations in some instances Virus total suggests an infected file. Even more concerning, I have several folders that are just empty that used to have a good amount of files in them and it looks like they duplicated. I ran a full scan on my machine to include every area of the computer, and the Boot sector has several locked files that cannot be scanned. There are also strange settings that I am not understanding. I am hoping some one can guide me in the best direction to clean my system.
