Hi everyone,

I have looked at 5 or 6 google articles and still can't get this to work.

When I get my guest machine out of scaled mode so I can see the menu bar, the only items I see are view and help. I need the devices item so I can update my Guest Additions. I have tried a couple of different views but it stay with just the two items.

One article suggested  I do the following;

When I scroll down to user interface what I see is all the menu items, each having a drop down arrow, making it look like you can choose what sub items appear. Everything looks okay to me, but I don't have a lot of experience doing anything with this. Under that there is a check box that says 'Show at Top of Screen'. I checked this and started my VM but that made it worse. Now I see nothing. I have included a ksnip to show what I am seeing.

so I reran the vboxwindowsadditions.exe and it started upgrading to 7.2.4. I restarted the VM and now my desktop is completely gone and I get an error message saying one of my shared drives is not available, which explains why my desktop is gone.

Okay problem solved. I misinterpreted reboot the machine as just shutdown and restart the VM. I reinstalled 7.2.4 guest additions again and this time chose the reboot now option. Now all is okay.
