Hi,

I am running POP! OS on System 76 hardware, I am using Oracle Virtualbox to run Windows 10 in a VM. Every so often when I go to start up the guest machine, I get a message saying I have an older version (7.1.8) of the extension pack and do I want to download the latest version. When I click download it goes and seems to download, but then I get a box in the top right hand corner that says During network request: Url not found on the server.

Hi, it is possible they changed the address and/or only a clean install will fix the issue.

As it is a Extension it is highly likely that that has happened.

Is there anything in it's settings that you can point it to or correct/confirm the update address ?

With luck maybe someone will know :=}

Hi PK,

Didn't see any other suggestions so I tried clicking on check updates under file. It told me there was a new extension pack available but when I tried to download I ended up with the same issue. Fortunately the there is a message along the way that asks me if I am sure I want to download the update and gives me the url. I put that url directly into my browser and I was able to download the file. I then right clicked on it and chose open with VirtualBox. I didn't get any messages but I think it worked because now when I check for updates it just tells me there is a new version available, which I believe is the 7.2.4 as I am running 7.2.2.

Is what I thought.  Did not update the URL in the Update Pack.   Was it the legit address ??     Recommend staying Updated

Note there is a massive amount of VM ransom and other issues.  Only download from respected sites and stay up to date.

Maybe a issue with your release : https://www.google.com/search?q=%20issues%20with%20VM%207.2.2.&client=firefox-b-d&channel=entpr&sclient=gws-wiz-serp

Yes I used the URL that was presented to me when I clicked on check updates within Virtualbox. I also upgraded to 7.2.4 so I am now at the latest, except GuestAdditions, which I will submit in a different post. Thanks again. Your knowledge and help is invaluable.

https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/   User Manual for Release 7.2  Not sure what they did to the interface it is just straight up HTML Links with no way to search.
