Just a thought: Check with family members that this has not been sent to her, as a present.

If it was meant to be a surprise, would they tell her. You should ask

Google do have these "memories" slide shows which have music in the background.  I believe they are AI generated collections (meaning AI has selected and curated the images and turned them into a slide show, not the images themselves are AI generated!!).  However, these are in my experience made up of pictures you already have (on your phone/in Google account etc.), not pictures you've never had on your phone.  If this is what was generating the slide shows she was seeing, you should be able to find them in the Google Photos app.

EDIT to add:  It's possible if she has a computer with Google Backup & Sync or Google Drive installed, and the computer has photos stored on it, these will have been automatically uploaded to Google, hence why they may be showing on the phone even if she hasn't manually added the pictures in question to the phone.

Ok thanks for the through explanation..and the helpful reply...it does sound like thats the same thing, she doesnt remember seeing them on her phone so the pc connection might be the issue,i wish the notifictation history would have been on so she could go back and see it,so id have to go thru her photos to find the ones she saw?or is there anyway to just see the"memories"slideshow again?does it save a backup somewhere by any chance?

On my phone you just open the (Google) Photos app, and the top line is made up of collections of photos with titles like "Revisit the moment" or "January 2015" or whatever it may be.  These are the slideshows I was talking about.  With luck, you might find the slide show your mum saw here

Maybe AnyDesk?  I don't know much about remote access software on Android, but as a general observation a lot of the phone scammers (in videos I watch from "scam baiters" and people working to shut down scams) seem to use AnyDesk as their tool of choice, and very few seem to use TeamViewer.   Despicable as these people are, presumably they choose what they've found are reliable tools for the "job"!  Of course, AnyDesk is legitimate software being misused by certain people, the application itself is legit, and available from the main app stores.
