support finally got back with what appears to be generic "try this" reply.

although I had already tried all they suggested, I did it all again with no joy

Dear Player,

We have received your feedback. Sorry that you have encountered this issue in the game.

Since your problem may be affected by factors such as network, device, and server fluctuations, we recommend that you can try to solve it in the following ways:

1. Clean up the cache data in your phone or clean up the phone memory

2. Switch the network and keep the network stable

3. Restart the game or uninstall and reinstall the game (please note that before uninstalling and reinstalling, please make sure that your character has been bound to a secure third-party social account, otherwise there will be a risk of losing the account)

4. Please check your game version to ensure that it is in the latest version

5. Ensure that your mobile phone system version has been updated to the latest version

6. Click Settings-Repair Game or click the Repair Game button in the upper left corner of the login page, and re-enter the game after the repair is complete

We hope the above methods can solve your current problem.

Kind Regards,

FunPlus Team.

I have decided to accept defeat  and just call this one unsolvable

Thanks for trying to help

Graham

Sorry to hear that, but You are welcome, steamwiz! :(

However, I think the fact that the FunPlus Team provided generic instructions on how to troubleshoot the issue on a phone instead of a computer is poor support. :(

The fact that the above reply is signed with "FunPlus Team" makes me wonder if it was generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI) rather than being written by a support engineer. :(

I'm afraid we can expect this more and more often...
